Champagne corks are popping for Cassie Looker who has been crowned STILL UK’s Regional Service Manager of the Year.

There are six STILL UK regional managers who were all judged against criteria including how many key performance indicators they achieved, consistently high customer service levels and the speed with which any issues were resolved.

Cassie, 45, who has worked for the leading forklift truck manufacturer for 10 years, oversees service operations throughout the Central West region managing a team of 13 engineers.

She said: “I’m thrilled to win Regional Service Manager of the Year as my team has worked incredibly hard in the last 12 months during challenging conditions, ensuring our customers receive the very highest levels of service which delivers exceptional value to their own operations.”

She added: “This is great recognition not just for me but for my dedicated colleagues and I feel very proud to be in the position of leading this exceptional team.”

Cassie first got into the industry when she was hired to work in the purchase ledger department by another forklift truck company while still in her 20s.

“That was initially just on a short-term hire contract,” she continued. “But I excelled there and made my way up the business before eventually joining STILL UK.

“Here I have progressed even further thanks to the supporting environment where I’ve been able to develop my skills and break into the management side of the business.”

With 20 years’ experience, Cassie has seen some huge changes in the forklift industry, particularly when it comes to opportunities for women.

“In the early days it was very male dominated,” she explained. “You would often see men getting promoted but hardly ever women, which was disheartening.

“However, thankfully things have improved and I would urge more young women to consider this industry to see for themselves what great opportunities there are for a long and successful career.”
