Industry first safety system clinches Award for Excellence

STILL Materials Handling are delighted to announce that their innovative Descent Speed Regulation (DSR) assistance system won the award for Safety at the UK Materials Handling Association (UKMHA) Awards for Excellence

The UKMHA’s Awards for Excellence have become the symbol of distinction within the materials handling sector and this weekend, guests from across the industry gathered at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham to pay tribute to the companies, teams and individuals who have done so much to innovate, raise standards and help operators work more effectively and safely.

STILL’s Innovative Descent Speed Regulation (DSR) assistance system received finalist status in two categories, Innovation and Safety, so understandably, the STILL team were excited to find out if either of their nominations had caught the eye of the judges and were deserving of a coveted ‘Archie’ award.

The innovative Descent Speed Regulation (DSR) assistance system is currently the only one of its kind globally and makes journeys with STILL’s new range of tractors even safer. When driving downhill with a load, DSR measures the load automatically with standard trailers, measures the angle of the gradient and adjusts/limits the speed of the vehicle - either manually or automatically, depending on the configuration level - to a value that protects it from dangerous situations. This unique system supports the driver for safe travel on ramps and at the same time increases handling performance.
